Snowpocalypse 2015 – SO. MUCH. SNOW.

By February 26, 2015February 3rd, 2020No Comments

Welcome to Snowpocalypse 2015, Part ? Hmmmm, we seem to have lost count.  Winter storm Remus pummeled the South yesterday from northeast Texas to North Carolina, with snow totals from 6 (Arkansas, Mississippi & Georgia) to 10 inches (Alabama)  recorded. Our home state of Colorado got a dose of the white stuff yesterday as well, with 6-8 inches around the metro and surrounding areas and more in the mountains. Skiers and boarders are rejoicing, while the rest of us have a collective “meh, enough already” attitude….

But wait, there’s more! Another large swath of snicy (that’s snow and icy) weather is set to move across the country starting tomorrow evening and blowing and snowing through the weekend.  Locally heavy snow from the central Plains to the mid-Mississippi Valley, southern Great Lakes and interior Northeast is expected and sleet and/or freezing rain is expected from the central Plains into the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic states. This system will likely garner “named status” and be called Sparta.

Looking into next week, March is going to come in like a lion with another winter storm expected for the Midwest and East Tuesday into Wednesday.

On the bright side, a recent snowstorm in MA. gave us this video- Jim Cantore Thundersnow Surprise. BOOM! That’s a two-fer baby 🙂

Stay warm and stay safe!
