Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Comprehensive training for independent adjusters is absolutely available at a discounted rate. Through the Claims Adjuster Training Institute (CATI), Eberl provides hands-on, real-world education designed to prepare professionals for independent adjuster jobs and independent inspector jobs. From foundational courses and licensing preparation to Xactimate skills labs, advanced scoping, safety training, and just-in-time CAT deployment programs, CATI equips adjusters with the industry’s most carrier-aligned, practical training.

Independent Adjuster can apply through our online portal to join Eberl’s vast network of licensed professionals. Once part of the network, adjusters gain access to discounted training, carrier-aligned certification paths, and real deployment opportunities supported by our proprietary claim-matching technology.

Yes, we have been training adjusters since our founding in 1987! Our training division, CATI, currently offers a variety of classes for CAT for property and auto adjusters at our state-of-the-art training facilities in Dallas and Irving, Texas.
Most of our clients require at least two years of experience. Skilled independent adjusters who join Eberl’s roster have access to discounted training and professional development opportunities. Our network connects qualified adjusters to deployment opportunities, giving them flexibility to choose assignments when they want with contractors they prefer.

Many of our clients require independent adjusters to go through their certification process prior to handling their claims. Eberl also works with clients who currently do not require adjuster certifications. However, to increase your opportunities with our company, we recommend acquiring all certifications available. Please log in to the CATI Learning Center to learn which certifications are offered.

Skill and knowledge-based certifications that are not specific to any one carrier are also recommended as a means to acquire high-quality training and validation of your skills. The CATI Certified Adjuster program currently offers certifications in residential field and desk adjusting. You can learn about these certifications in the Learning Center.

Yes! In fact, the more licenses you have, the more marketable you are to our clients.

Our team has also created an Adjuster Licensing Workbook to further assist with application questions and general licensing information. The workbook can easily be accessed once you are logged into your Eberl profile under the Work Resources section, or you can contact our team at licensing@eberls.com, and we will be happy to send you a copy.

The majority of our clients require the use of the Xactimate property estimating software, and some are making the change to Symbility. We feel the best way to learn the program is through a combination of classroom and field use. CATI offers Xactimate and Symbility classes throughout the year at our training facility in Dallas.

For auto adjusters, we recommend that you train in the auto estimating software CCCOne. We periodically offer these training classes through our Learning Center. Check the training calendar for upcoming availability.

Certification processes vary in delivery method, length, and complexity, depending on the client’s requirements. Most carrier certifications, currently available through CATI, can be completed virtually via livestream webinars or on-demand, self-paced courses. These courses do require substantial time, study, and preparation, and typically include exams that must be successfully completed in order to receive the certification.

The individual adjuster is responsible for any costs associated with training via CATI, including such things as class registration, travel, lodging, and meal costs. While most of the carrier certifications do not require a registration fee, courses that will build your skills and knowledge typically do.
