Chilling, isn’t it? Residents of San Diego County, CA. have spotted these swirling nasties rising from the wildfires that have been burning there for almost a week now. As many as 14 wildfires were recorded in the San Diego area last week, with preliminary damage estimates at almost $20 million dollars. Over 125,000 evacuations were ordered at the height of the fires. Thankfully, no casualties were reported and only a handful of structures were damaged. Cooler, calmer weather over the weekend has helped halt the fires spread. Authorities are now assessing how these blazes began and are pointing to arson as the cause for many of them.
It’s waaaaay too early for wildfire season… just sayin’.
