The first day of fall is still is almost 2 weeks away, but snow is already falling in several states! South Dakota has recorded theirĀ earliest snowfall in 120 years with 8 inches in Custer and 7 inches covering Mount Rushmore. More freeze, frost and snow is expected this week for parts of the Rockies, Plains and Upper Midwest as well as cooler temperatures for much of the rest of the country. This chilly episode comes to us courtesy of a cold front sinking south from Canada. Uhhhh- thanks eh?
Fortunately, it appears that more temperate fall weather will return next week.
