The team at Colorado State University Department of Atmospheric Science has released their latest Atlantic hurricane season forecast. As with the April and June forecasts, they anticipate a near-average season.
Here is a summary of the forecast;
Probabilities for at least ONE MAJOR hurricane landfall for these coastal areas;
- Entire U.S. Coastline- 50%
- U.S. East Coast, including Peninsula Florida- 30%
- Gulf Coast from Florida Panhandle to Brownsville- 29%
Predictions aside, the familiar mantra remains- “All it takes is one…” Coastal residents ( and adjusters ) need to remain prepared throughout the season!
